Walk The House

tropical heat sweetens the peat
of where i call home
bridal bones, unfound homes
in the muck
as if someone sweet were calling,
i swim from swamp to spring to lonely thing
and come the dusk i wonder
where other swamp things wander
give me patience i crave autonomy
i came upon a mirrored landscape
the colors keep changing
as if my hearts participating
explorer's will begins to crack
for each step forward reveals
no reflection staring back
the entrance was not obvious to me
still, this body feels ok today
its naked and touched to further celebrate
the button in front is slouchy still
its clearly not ephemeral
me, yellow elder, void experience
but old enough for mal decisions
the sooner i accept my nature i rest my head
but for now these surroundings
laden with
laden with
lead

Jonathan vs. Michael

jonathan
why weren't you born
everyone wants to know
how im getting on
pretty sure
michael will die before he wakes
thanks a lot for the backwash you left me with
jonathan
why werent you born
everyone wants to know
when im moving on
pretty sure michael rests easier in his grave
thanks so much for the wild bunch you've left with
jonathan why werent you born

The End
06:24
|

just so you know ill never love you again
just so you know this ones for you
just so you know i made it back
i wrote it down
i sang it out
just as the flood crept under the front door
you cried to your maker 'call if off'
but as i lay choking on dirty water
i called to my maker 'keep it up'
my times have changed
since you'd swallow us up if you could
my times have changed between the three of us
you and us
lets go back lets go back
to when you drew yourself a bath for two
with no intent of getting clean
lets go back lets go back
to when you caught in your glance
the glitterin of my undergarments
but
upon further inspection
all your compliments come from a mouth
facing another direction
i see my point
but
there once was a time
when the warmth upon your beating chest
a result of my own
slow
pant
ing
breath
and as the summer heat sat heavy on us
and that white light just dancing upon us
as if, as if to taunt us
but this is just what people who are trying will do
and this is just what people who are giving up might say,
'well ive made a mistake
and im takin it back
cuttin you loose
getting rid o the slack'
no, ive made the mistake!
and im takin it back!
cuttin you loose!
cause the slacks gonna drag
yeah that slacks gonna drag
gonna drag gonna drag
yeah that slacks gonna drag gonna drag
well i might feed
all your friends and your family
but theyll never know
it was me
it was me
dont use my full name in your stories
oh they might know it was me
it was me
it was me!
it was me!
pursue the truth
no matter how far
it might take you away
to the bottom
to the bottom
to the bottom
to the bottom
of the sea
to the farthest reaches
of the everglades heat
to the end
to the end
to the end
to the end
of my love
to the end
to the end
to the end
to the end
of my love
to the end
of my love
to the end
of my love
to the end
of my love
to the end
the
end
