tropical heat sweetens the peat
of where i call home
bridal bones, unfound homes
in the muck

as if someone sweet were calling,
i swim from swamp to spring to lonely thing
and come the dusk i wonder
where other swamp things wander
give me patience i crave autonomy

i came upon a mirrored landscape
the colors keep changing
as if my hearts participating
explorer's will begins to crack
for each step forward reveals
no reflection staring back

the entrance was not obvious to me

still, this body feels ok today
its naked and touched to further celebrate
the button in front is slouchy still
its clearly not ephemeral

me, yellow elder, void experience
but old enough for mal decisions
the sooner i accept my nature i rest my head
